Academic World Journal of Scientific and Engineering Innovation (AWJSEI)

Overview

The Academic World Journal of Scientific and Engineering Innovation (AWJSEI) welcomes original, unpublished scholarly manuscripts that contribute to innovation-driven knowledge, applied research, scientific advancement, engineering solutions, technological development, sustainability, education, policy, institutional improvement, enterprise development, and related multidisciplinary fields.

AWJSEI is a peer-reviewed, open-access, multidisciplinary journal. Manuscripts are considered on the understanding that they have not been published previously and are not under consideration by another journal, conference proceeding, book chapter, or publication outlet. Submissions should demonstrate scholarly rigour, methodological clarity, originality, ethical compliance, practical relevance, and a clear contribution to knowledge, practice, policy, or innovation-led development.

Innovation-Focused Scope

The unifying theme of AWJSEI is innovation. The journal considers manuscripts from different disciplines where the contribution is clearly connected to applied knowledge, practical problem-solving, technological advancement, sustainability, educational transformation, institutional improvement, enterprise development, or evidence-based responses to real-world challenges.

Submissions that are purely descriptive, weakly connected to innovation, outside the journal’s applied focus, or lacking a clear scholarly contribution may be declined at the editorial screening stage.

Types of Manuscripts Accepted

AWJSEI accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

Original research articles

Review articles

Technical studies

Case studies

Short communications

Innovation reports

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format. The main text should be typed in 12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, with standard one-inch margins on all sides. Pages should be numbered consecutively.

Each manuscript should include a title page containing the full manuscript title, author name(s), institutional affiliation(s), email address(es), and the full contact details of the corresponding author.

An abstract of not more than 250 words should be provided, followed by four to six relevant keywords. The abstract should clearly state the purpose of the study, methodology, major findings, and contribution of the work.

Research articles should normally be arranged under the following headings: Introduction, Materials and Methods or Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements where applicable, References, and Appendices where necessary.

Figures and tables should be placed close to where they are first cited in the manuscript and numbered sequentially. All figures and tables must have clear titles or captions. Images, diagrams, and figures should be of good quality and suitable for publication. Authors should avoid unnecessary duplication between text, tables, and figures.

References should follow APA 7th edition style. Authors must ensure that every source cited in the text appears in the reference list, and that every reference listed is cited in the manuscript.

Manuscripts must be submitted as clean academic documents. Files containing another journal’s logo, header, footer, template identity, or publication details will be returned for administrative correction before peer review.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the AWJSEI online submission portal on the Open Journal Systems platform. Authors experiencing difficulty with online submission may contact the editorial office for assistance.

All submissions are first screened by the editorial office for completeness, relevance to scope, formatting, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to journal policies. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are forwarded for peer review.

AWJSEI operates a peer-review process designed to support academic quality, fairness, and responsible scholarly publishing. Reviewers assess manuscripts for originality, methodological soundness, relevance, clarity of presentation, ethical compliance, and contribution to knowledge.

The review process typically takes two to six weeks, although the duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript quality, and the extent of revision required. Authors may be invited to revise and resubmit their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments. Final acceptance is determined by the editorial board.

Article Processing Charges

AWJSEI does not charge submission fees. Article processing charges are payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.

The current article processing charge is ₦70,000 for Nigerian authors and 150 USD for international authors.

Payment of an article processing charge does not guarantee acceptance. All manuscripts must undergo editorial screening and peer review before publication. Authors may contact the editorial office for information on institutional arrangements, waivers, or special considerations where applicable.

Ethical Policy

AWJSEI is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, properly referenced, and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, inappropriate image manipulation, duplicate submission, and unethical authorship practices.

Research involving human participants, animals, confidential information, or sensitive data must have received appropriate ethical approval where required. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest, funding sources, institutional affiliations, or financial relationships that may influence the research.

Manuscripts found to involve plagiarism, duplicate submission, false data, unethical authorship, or simultaneous submission to another publication outlet may be rejected or withdrawn from consideration.

Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors grant AWJSEI the right to publish, distribute, and archive the article as part of the scholarly record. Published articles are made available under the journal’s stated copyright and licensing terms.

Where applicable, articles may be published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which permits use, sharing, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author(s) and source are properly credited.

Post-Acceptance and Proofing

Accepted manuscripts will undergo final formatting, copyediting, and typesetting. Authors will receive proofs for review before publication. Only minor corrections, such as typographical errors, formatting issues, and factual corrections, will be allowed at the proof stage. Major content changes are not normally permitted after acceptance.
